The Seals of Authie Bay
Where and when to observe seals in Berck?
To observe them in the best conditions and not to disturb them, you have to go to the south beach of Berck - les Sternes, opposite the nautical club.
Either when they arrive, carried by the waves a little more than two hours after low tide, when they pass in front of the place where the boats descend and along the dike to go up the Authie towards the Bec du Perroquet where they feed, either at ebb tide where they go back out to sea.
They then climb onto the sandbanks that the tide has just revealed and then rest for long moments, especially when the sun is shining. This is the best time and place to observe them.
